QUALITY EVALUATION RESEARCH

This article presents the results of the corporate website quality evaluation research. The research was conducted in May-December 2002 on purpose-random chosen group of 1842 users.
The Corporate Website is the essential element of the corporate identity and image - only correctly designed and constructed website assures measurable advantages to the corporation.
However it is very easy for a mistake during the design and coding phases. The execution team is not the athority in the website attractiveness for the average surfer.
To discover which elements of the corporate website are important to users, to discover the value of them and what should be taken in consideration during the design phase, the authors of this article carried the web survey amongst web-users, which aimed in:
· defining 9 basic and 26 subsidiary criterions of the corpotate website quality evaluation,
· examining the significance of particular criterions in the website design process,
· rating seleced corporate websites,
· examining the influence of the selected corporate websites for their image in the perception of the users,
The objects for the reasearch have been selected from the existing corporate sites.
The selection of the enterprises was made according to the following key: 30 randomly chosen Polish enterprises amongst the 200 largest IT-enterprises, 30 randomly chosen Polish enterprises quoted on Warsaw Stock Exchange, not related to any IT-branch.
